Today has been a very couch-potatoe-y sort of day. I attempted to do some art stuff, read for a little bit, watched a little TV (Spaced! Yay!), wrote out the very rough draft of a paper due Tuesday, attempted to do some more art stuff, ate, listened to music on Pandora, reorganized files on my computer, read more, listened to more music, ate, and now I’m trying to do art stuff again.

I haven’t been feeling very creative lately, but I’ve been doing some reading and looking at a lot of art journals people have made on site like Embodiment and Jr__nal and they’ve inspired me a little bit. As have the books I’ve been reading, especially “What It Is” by Lynda Barry which is aimed more at writing, but Barry does really gorgeouse collage/paintings with are amazing to look at. Anyway, looking at all of these things, and my old sketchbook from my last year of high school where I experimented a lot more and felt really free to do whatever, has made me feel more able to create. There are projects that I should be working on, but because I feel so tense at the thought of getting out materials and working, I’m afraid to work on them. I’m so afraid of doing “bad” art that I end up not making any art at all.

Criteria: If this person came up to me right now and said “DO ME,” by golly, I would!

1. & 2. Hugh Laurie & Stephen Fry

Oh Hugh, could he really be any more wonderful? Actor, author, musician, comedian… *sigh*.  Jeeves & Wooster era Hugh would be especially pounce-able. And, okay, so maybe I wouldn’t actually *do* Stephen Fry, but I sure would demand many a hug from him and would just sort of bask in the presence of his awesomeness.

2. Shirley Manson

There is no woman in the world, in my mind, who can compare with Shirley Manson. I mean, I’ve built an entire fictional world out of my admiration/love/lust for this woman.

3. Daniel Craig

Yes, yes, he’s the new Bond. Admittedly, that’s what made me check out some of his older films, but I actually prefer some of the older films better. I love him as a brunette a la “Sylvia”. He’s much more on the eye-candy side of things, but he does have the most gorgeous eyes…

6. Emma Thompson

Beautiful and brilliant. Another one of the Cambridge Footlights on my little list! (The previous two being Hugh & Stephen.) She’s won Oscars and has made award-winning films and exceeds in both comedy and drama. I’d be satisfied just having tea with the woman.

7. Olivia Coleman

I only found out about Olivia Coleman recently, but she’s moved up the list pretty quickly. She’s not a big movie star, but seems much more…average, I guess. Still, I watch things just for her and I think she’s gorgeous and talented. If she called, I’d come running. ;D

Some people might think that there are some rather glaring omissions on this list, but really, these are the people that fit my criteria. David Bowie is awesome and I love him, but I don’t think I’d shag him if I got the chance…maybe if he were 30 years younger.
